Job Summary

The HVAC Sales Engineer provides advanced technical expertise and consultation on all aspects of Wine Guardian products and services to distributors, architects, engineers, contractors, and customers. This role evaluates HVAC application requirements, determines appropriate product configurations, and recommends system design solutions. The HVAC Sales Engineer serves as a technical authority for distributors and customers and provides training on new and existing products while maintaining and developing technical product documentation and sales literature.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Evaluate HVAC application requirements and provide technical consultation to distributors, architects, engineers, contractors, and end users by determining appropriate equipment sizing, system configurations, and product selection based on project specifications and operating conditions.
  • Interpret architectural and mechanical drawings and independently recommend best practices for the application of Wine Guardian products, including system layout, ductwork design, piping configuration, equipment placement, and overall system performance considerations.
  • Serve as a technical authority and advisor to distributors, engineers, and contractors regarding Wine Guardian products, system design considerations, and application best practices.
  • Develop and deliver distributor training on new and existing products and services through in-person and virtual presentations, ensuring distributors understand product capabilities, installation requirements, and application guidelines.
  • Manage and maintain the Wine Guardian distributor information portal, ensuring technical documentation, specifications, and product resources are accurate, current, and accessible.
  • Develop, update, and maintain sales literature and technical documentation to reflect new product development, engineering updates, and evolving product applications.

 Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar required.
  • Experience applying HVAC principles in equipment selection, system design, or product application preferred.
  • Proficient personal computer skills using Microsoft Office; experience with Salesforce and SolidWorks is a plus.

 Special Requirements

  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to travel locally, regionally, and nationally. Travel may include both day and overnight trips.
  • Must be willing to participate in company marketing, training, and promotional activities and sign a media release authorizing the use of photographs and video recordings for internal and external business purposes.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of HVAC system design principles, equipment applications, and system performance considerations, or the ability to develop this expertise.
  • Proven ability to read, interpret, and analyze complex engineering drawings, project specifications, and technical manuals.
  • Ability to evaluate application requirements and recommend appropriate technical solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects and priorities.

Physical and Mental Requirements

  • Close mental and visual attention required to prepare and analyze data, drawings, and technical information while working on a computer.
  • Ability to stand, walk, talk, hear, use hands to finger, grasp, handle, or feel, push, pull, reach, crouch, kneel, crawl, or bend, and perform repetitive motions with hands and/or wrists.
  • Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently.
  • Required to use safety glasses, hearing protection, and gloves while performing specific tasks.

 Work Environment:

  • Typical office environment with some exposure to the manufacturing floor and outside travel.
